Detailed Itinerary —10 Days Classic Uganda & Rwanda Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Hotel

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, meet your driver-guide, and transfer to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, you may enjoy an evening stroll along Lake Victoria before dinner and overnight in Entebbe.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, drive north with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos on foot. Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, where you check into your lodge along the Nile. Dinner and overnight in the park.

Day 3: Game Drive and Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls

Enjoy a sunrise game drive across the northern plains, where elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and lions roam. After lunch, take a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, with abundant hippos, crocodiles, and water birds. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, drive southwest toward Kibale, passing tea plantations and crater lakes. Arrive at your lodge near the forest by evening. Dinner and overnight in Kibale.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale – Drive to Queen Elizabeth

Start with chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, spending an hour with these lively primates. After lunch, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. An evening game drive introduces you to elephants, antelopes, and more. Dinner and overnight in Queen Elizabeth.

Day 6: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Today begins with a morning game drive on the Kasenyi plains, followed by a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and flocks of birds provide excellent photo opportunities. Dinner and overnight in the park.

Day 7: Drive to Bwindi via Ishasha – Tree-Climbing Lions

After breakfast, drive through the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. With luck, you’ll spot them before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Dinner and overnight at your forest lodge.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Begin the day with a gorilla trek in Bwindi, spending an unforgettable hour with a gorilla family. After trekking, drive to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation on its peaceful shores. Dinner and overnight by the lake.

Day 9: Cross into Rwanda – Drive to Volcanoes National Park – Golden Monkey Trekking

After breakfast, cross the border into Rwanda and head to Volcanoes National Park. In the afternoon, track golden monkeys in the bamboo forests. Dinner and overnight at your lodge facing the Virunga volcanoes.

Day 10: Transfer to Kigali – City Tour – Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, you may take a city tour, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial and craft markets. Later, you are transferred to Kigali International Airport for departure.
