Detailed Itinerary —5-Day Murchison Falls & Rhino Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Hotel

Your safari begins with arrival at Entebbe International Airport, where your driver-guide meets you and transfers you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may explore Entebbe town or relax along the shores of Lake Victoria before dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Continue to Murchison Falls

After breakfast, you begin your journey north toward Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where rhinos can be tracked on foot. Guided by rangers, you walk into the sanctuary to observe these gentle giants grazing and resting in the bush. After the rhino experience, you continue your journey with a lunch stop en route. By evening, you enter Murchison Falls National Park and check into your lodge along the Nile for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari

The day begins with an early morning game drive across the northern plains of Murchison. The savannah is alive with wildlife, and you may encounter elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, and antelopes. Birdlife is also abundant, with secretary birds, ground hornbills, and eagles patrolling the skies. After lunch at your lodge, you set out on a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. Hippos crowd the water, crocodiles sun themselves on the banks, and elephants often gather to drink. The day concludes with dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 4: Visit the Top of Murchison Falls – Evening Game Drive

This morning, you visit the top of Murchison Falls, where the mighty Nile squeezes through a gorge only seven meters wide before crashing into a frothing pool below. The view and the roar of the falls are unforgettable. Afterward, you return for relaxation and lunch at your lodge. In the late afternoon, you embark on another game drive, exploring different sections of the park and searching for wildlife you may not have encountered earlier. Dinner and overnight are spent in the park.

Day 5: Return to Kampala or Entebbe – Departure

After breakfast, you check out and begin your return journey south. The drive takes you once again through Uganda’s countryside, with a lunch stop along the way. By late afternoon, you arrive in Kampala or Entebbe, where the safari concludes with a drop-off at your hotel or the airport for your onward flight.
