Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

You arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where your driver-guide greets you and transfers you to your hotel. Depending on your flight schedule, you may relax at your hotel or take a short walk along the shores of Lake Victoria. Dinner and overnight are in Entebbe.

Day 2: Birding at Mabamba Wetland – Drive to Murchison Falls

Your day begins with a birding excursion at Mabamba Swamp, famous for the rare shoebill stork. From here, you continue north toward Murchison Falls National Park, stopping for lunch along the way. By evening, you reach the park and check into your lodge along the Nile.

Day 3: Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari

You rise early for a morning game drive on the northern plains, where elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, and leopards roam. After lunch, you take a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of the falls. Hippos wallow in the waters, crocodiles line the banks, and elephants gather to drink. The day ends with a hike to the top of Murchison Falls for breathtaking views before returning to your lodge for dinner.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you set out on a full-day drive southwest, passing tea plantations, crater lakes, and rolling hills. Arriving in Fort Portal, you continue to your lodge on the edge of Kibale Forest for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk

This morning, you join rangers in Kibale Forest to track chimpanzees. The forest is alive with bird calls and the chatter of monkeys, and once the chimps are located, you spend an hour observing them. In the afternoon, you visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run project known for primates and rich birdlife. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you drive toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The route passes the Rwenzori Mountains before descending into the savannah. Arriving in the park, you enjoy an afternoon game drive across the Kasenyi plains, home to elephants, antelopes, and predators. Dinner and overnight at a lodge in the park.

Day 7: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

The day begins with a sunrise game drive, the best time to see lions, leopards, and large herds of Uganda kob. After lunch, you embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, one of Africa’s richest waterways, where hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and hundreds of bird species are seen at close range. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge in the park.

Day 8: Drive to Ishasha – Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, you drive through the Ishasha sector, which is famous for its tree-climbing lions lounging in fig trees. Continuing south, you reach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where your lodge is set on the edge of the rainforest. Dinner and overnight in Bwindi.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

This is the highlight of your safari. After breakfast, you report to the park headquarters for a ranger briefing before venturing into the dense forest. The trek may last several hours, but when you finally encounter a gorilla family, the experience is beyond words. You spend an unforgettable hour with them before returning to your lodge for lunch, relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After the intensity of trekking, you leave Bwindi for Lake Bunyonyi, a stunning lake dotted with 29 islands. The drive is short but scenic, and by midday you arrive at your lakeside lodge. The afternoon is free to relax, canoe, or swim in the calm, bilharzia-free waters. Dinner and overnight are at the lake.

Day 11: Full Day at Lake Bunyonyi

This day is for relaxation and exploration. You may take a boat ride to explore the lake’s islands, enjoy birdwatching, or walk along the terraced hillsides. The lake offers peace and tranquility, making it an ideal stop after the energy of gorilla trekking. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you depart Lake Bunyonyi and drive to Lake Mburo National Park. This small but beautiful park is home to zebras, elands, impalas, and hippos. You arrive by afternoon and enjoy a game drive before settling into your lodge. Dinner and overnight in the park.

Day 13: Morning Game Walk – Drive to Entebbe

Your morning begins with a guided nature walk in Lake Mburo, where you may encounter zebras and other antelopes on foot. Afterward, you begin the drive back to Entebbe, stopping at the Equator for photographs and souvenirs. Dinner and overnight in Entebbe.
