Detailed Itinerary —10-Day Best of Uganda Safari Adventure

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Hotel

Your safari begins with your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, where you are welcomed by your driver-guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a walk in the botanical gardens or relax by Lake Victoria. Dinner and overnight are in Entebbe.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, you set off for Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you track rhinos on foot with rangers. After lunch, you continue north to Murchison, arriving by late afternoon. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge along the Nile.

Day 3: Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari in Murchison

The day begins with a morning game drive on the northern plains. Elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, and antelopes are commonly seen, along with a variety of bird species. After lunch, you take a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of the falls, passing pods of hippos and basking crocodiles. A hike to the top of the falls offers dramatic views before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you drive southwest toward Kibale Forest, passing tea plantations and crater lakes. The journey offers plenty of scenic beauty and cultural impressions of Ugandan life. By evening, you arrive at your lodge near Kibale Forest for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale – Bigodi Wetland Walk

The morning is devoted to chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest, where you spend an hour with a troop of chimps in their natural home. The forest is also alive with monkeys and colorful birds. In the afternoon, you visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-run conservation project known for its birdlife and primates. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, you leave Kibale for Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive takes you through scenic countryside with views of the Rwenzori Mountains. On arrival, you check into your lodge and enjoy an evening game drive across the Kasenyi plains. Dinner and overnight are in the park.

Day 7: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

The day begins with a morning game drive in the park, where you may spot lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes. After lunch, you take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, famous for its hippos, crocodiles, and incredible birdlife. The evening is spent at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Drive to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, you drive through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth, home to the famous tree-climbing lions. With luck, you may spot them before continuing south into the highlands. By afternoon, you arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where your lodge is set on the edge of the jungle. Dinner and overnight are in Bwindi.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

This is the highlight of your safari. After breakfast, you head to the park headquarters for a ranger briefing before beginning your gorilla trek. The hike takes you through dense vegetation and steep slopes, but the reward is priceless. When you encounter your gorilla family, you spend an hour observing their daily life—silverbacks watching over the group, mothers tending to their young, and playful juveniles tumbling through the forest. After the trek, you return to your lodge for lunch, relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 10: Return to Entebbe – Departure

After breakfast, you begin the return journey to Entebbe, passing through Uganda’s rolling hills and farmlands. You stop for lunch en route and at the Equator for photographs and souvenirs. By evening, you arrive at Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your safari.
