Detailed Itinerary —12-Day Uganda Safari & Adventure Experience

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Transfer to Hotel

You arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where your driver-guide welcomes you and transfers you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax or take a walk along the shores of Lake Victoria. Dinner and overnight are in Entebbe.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, you head north toward Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided walk to see rhinos at close range. After lunch, you continue to Murchison, arriving at your lodge by evening. Dinner and overnight are at the lodge along the Nile.

Day 3: Game Drive and Nile Boat Safari at Murchison Falls

Your day begins with an early game drive across the northern savannah plains, where you may encounter elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, and buffaloes. After lunch, you embark on a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, where hippos and crocodiles thrive. A short hike to the top of the falls completes the experience with dramatic views. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you depart for western Uganda, driving past scenic landscapes, farmlands, and crater lakes. By evening, you arrive at your lodge near Kibale Forest, the primate capital of the world. Dinner and overnight are in Kibale.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale – Bigodi Wetland Walk

The morning is dedicated to chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest. You spend an hour watching these energetic primates interact in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, you visit Bigodi Wetland, a community-run sanctuary rich in birds, monkeys, and butterflies. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Evening Game Drive

After breakfast, you drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with views of the Rwenzori Mountains en route. On arrival, you enjoy an evening game drive across the Kasenyi plains, where elephants, lions, and antelopes roam. Dinner and overnight are in the park.

Day 7: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

This day begins with a sunrise game drive, often the best time to spot predators. After lunch, you embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a waterway teeming with hippos, crocodiles, and water birds, while elephants and buffaloes gather at the banks. Dinner and overnight are at your lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector

After breakfast, you leave Queen Elizabeth and drive through the Ishasha sector, which is famous for its tree-climbing lions. Continuing south, you arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by late afternoon. Your lodge is set in the misty highlands. Dinner and overnight are in Bwindi.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

This is the highlight of your safari. After breakfast, you head to the park headquarters for a ranger briefing before trekking into the dense rainforest. The hike may take several hours, but when you finally encounter a gorilla family, the moment is unforgettable. Watching them in their natural environment is one of the greatest wildlife experiences on earth. Afterward, you return to your lodge for relaxation. Dinner and overnight are in Bwindi.

Day 10: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Relaxation

After the intensity of gorilla trekking, you transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, a peaceful haven dotted with islands. The afternoon is free to relax, swim, or take a canoe ride on the lake. Dinner and overnight are at a lakeside lodge.

Day 11: Transfer to Jinja – Optional Adventure Activities

After breakfast, you set out for Jinja, the adventure capital of Uganda, located on the source of the Nile. By evening, you arrive at your lodge on the riverbanks. Depending on your energy, you may enjoy an optional sunset boat ride or simply relax ahead of the next day’s adventure.

Day 12: White-Water Rafting on the Nile – Departure

The final day is devoted to adventure. You set out for white-water rafting on the Nile, a thrilling experience suitable for beginners and seasoned rafters alike, with expert guides ensuring safety. Alternatively, you may opt for quad biking, horseback riding, or bungee jumping. After lunch, you return to Entebbe, arriving in time for your evening flight.
